Conference Location and Hotels

LOEX 2025 will be held in Pasadena, CA ; almost all* activities will occur at the Pasadena Convention Center (300 E Green St). We are in the Conference Center portion of the complex (map of the complex) ; (map of streets around the complex).

4/30/2025 Hotel Update -- LOEX's room block at our original hotel and our overflow hotels have all sold out. The hotels where we have blocks are:

- Westin Pasadena (191 N Los Robles Ave, Pasadena, CA) at $215/night. 
Original hotel room block for LOEX 2025

- Hotel Dena (303 Cordova St, Pasadena, CA) at $215/night. 
Overflow hotel for a group of attendees who originally were booked at the Westin, but the Westin overbooked their rooms, so that group was moved. An email was sent from LOEX on April 27 explaining the situation. By May 1, all people who received that email have had their reservation moved to the Dena. If you did *not* receive any emails from LOEX, the Westin, or Hotel Dena, your reservation is still at the Westin. If you are not sure, please call them.

- Hilton Glendale (100 West Glenoaks Blvd, Glendale, CA) at $189/night

Overflow hotel where a small block of rooms was acquired in April when it became clear the Westin was sold out.

If you still need a hotel room and can not find an alternative hotel on your own, consider requesting to share a room via the Attendee wiki.    

*The Thursday and Friday dine-arounds will occur at area restaurants ; the Thursday afternoon New Attendee Orientation and the Meet & Greet will occur at the Pasadena Masonic Temple ; the optional Thursday afternoon group activity will be a the USC Pacific Asia Museum. All of these are within walking distance of the Convention Center.

Past Updates:

4/17/2025 Update -- Hotel space is now extremely limited due to a busy calendar of events in the area. We currently have just a few rooms left at our overflow hotel of Hilton Glendale; this block of rooms at $189/night can not be expanded. For the Westin Pasadena, our block is currently full; we are working to try and get at least a handful of additional rooms either there or another hotel, but that is uncertain. If you still need a hotel room and can not find an alternative hotel on your own, consider requesting to share a room via the Attendee wiki.  

3/28/2025 Update -- the Westin still has rooms for the first 3 nights in the block, but is sold out of rooms on Saturday night. 

Other Pasadena hotels are either full on Saturday night or want $375/night and up, so we widened our lens and secured a room block at an overflow hotel in a neighboring city: the Glendale Hilton at $189/night; attendees can reserve a room online here. 
- This hotel is located on the way to Pasadena from LAX and BUR and is accessible to the Pasadena Convention Center by car or public transportation. 

3/21/2025 Update -- the block still has rooms for the first 3 nights, but it looks like they are sold out of rooms on Saturday night. We will ask the Westin again to see if the block can be expanded on that night, but that likely will not happen. Regardless, we will locate an overflow hotel that has Wednesday through Saturday nights available; we plan on posting that next week.

Attendees flying in for the conference should first look to see if they can find a flight at the Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR), which is 15 miles away. It has direct flights from most of the Pacific and Mountain time zones, along with Texas and New Orleans. Rideshare options, such as Uber of Lyft, are available; public transportation is available, though it will likely take a bit over 1 hour.

Another airport option includes the massive Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), which is 30 miles away. Again, rideshare options are available, as well as public transportation (this requires taking the Flyaway shuttle to Union Station, then Metro A light rail line to the Memorial Park stop; from there it is a 10-min walk to the hotel). 

If you are driving, on-site self-parking (at the Convention Center, and also all the hotels) & valet (at the two Pasadena hotels) is available for a fee.
